University of South Carolina License Plate Of more than five dozen specialty license plates sold by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in 2005, the University of South Carolina plate is the most popular. This is good news for incoming freshmen, as your Carolina Alumni Association - receiving proceeds from the license tag sales in South Carolina - contributes those proceeds to fund scholarships.
