Contact your legislators TODAY…
CAN volunteers we need your help. The House Ways and Means Committee has
approved a proposed 2005-06 budget and will send it to the full House for
action on March 14. The budget includes many items that are important to the
University. We ask that you contact your representatives today and ask them
to support the following measures in the bill important to the University:
- 4% pay increase for faculty and staff
- $1 million for USC Hydrogen Fuel Cell Research
- $30 million for the Endowed Chairs Program to attract faculty for
research and economic development at USC, MUSC and Clemson

Register NOW for Carolina Day at the
Statehouse to be held on March 30
Thanks to you, last year's inaugural event was a great success, and we're
looking forward to making Carolina Day 2005 even better!
Be sure to wear your garnet and black.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to become an effective advocate for
USC and to meet your elected officials in person during our visit to the
Statehouse.
We start at 9:30 a.m. at Capital City Club and will conclude the day with
lunch featuring remarks by President Sorensen.
